dog enrichment
More Than Play. Give Your Dog Something to Think About.
Dogs need more than physical exercise. They also need opportunities to think, explore, problem-solve, move, and build confidence.
Wolf Pack Dog Training offers 30-minute in-home Dog Enrichment sessions designed to introduce you and your dog to enrichment activities you can continue using in everyday life.
Becky comes to your home with a variety of enrichment toys and activities, works directly with you and your dog, and teaches you how to use enrichment intentionally—not simply to keep your dog busy.
Best of all, you’ll participate in the session, giving you the opportunity to learn what your dog enjoys, how they approach new challenges, and how you can continue providing meaningful mental stimulation at home.

What Is Dog Enrichment?
Dog enrichment provides opportunities for your dog to use their brain, body, and natural instincts in productive ways.
While walks and physical exercise are important, physical activity is only one part of meeting a dog’s needs.
Enrichment encourages dogs to investigate, make choices, solve problems, use their senses, and interact with their environment.
During your session, Becky will introduce different enrichment activities and help you understand how your individual dog responds to them.
The goal isn’t simply to entertain your dog for 30 minutes.
The goal is to teach you how to create meaningful enrichment opportunities long after Becky leaves.
How Do I Know If My Dog Would Benefit From Enrichment?
Enrichment can benefit dogs of many ages, personalities, and experience levels.
Your dog may especially benefit if they:
- Become bored easily
- Need more mental stimulation
- Have lots of energy even after physical exercise
- Need confidence-building opportunities
- Enjoy sniffing, searching, or exploring
- Need appropriate outlets for natural behaviors
- Would benefit from additional movement
- Need opportunities to practice problem-solving
- Spend significant time indoors
- Need more variety in their daily routine
- Lose interest in traditional toys quickly
- Would benefit from more engagement with you
Enrichment isn’t reserved for dogs with behavioral problems.
Even well-trained dogs need opportunities to use their brains.
Why Is Enrichment Important for Dogs?
A dog can be physically tired and still need something meaningful to do.
Mental stimulation gives dogs another outlet for their energy and natural behaviors. Appropriate enrichment can provide opportunities for sniffing, searching, licking, exploring, problem-solving, movement, and engagement.
It can also help owners develop a better understanding of how their dog thinks and learns.
Enrichment shouldn’t be frustrating, overwhelming, or unnecessarily difficult. Activities should be appropriate for your dog’s abilities and adjusted as your dog learns.
Good enrichment isn’t about making something as difficult as possible. It’s about creating an experience your dog can engage with successfully.

Provide Mental Stimulation
Your dog gets opportunities to think, investigate, make choices, and work toward a goal instead of simply being given the answer.
Encourage Problem-Solving
Enrichment activities can encourage your dog to figure out how to access food, interact with an object, navigate a challenge, or complete an activity.
Build Confidence
Successfully exploring something new can help dogs become more comfortable making choices and interacting with unfamiliar experiences.

Increase Movement
Not all exercise needs to involve a long walk or intense physical activity. Enrichment can encourage appropriate movement through searching, exploring, sniffing, and interacting with the environment.
Learn What Your Dog Enjoys
Not every dog finds the same activities rewarding. Becky can help you recognize your dog’s preferences, comfort level, body language, and problem-solving style.
Learn How to Continue at Home
Becky will show you how to introduce activities, when to help, when to let your dog work through a challenge, and how to continue incorporating enrichment into your dog’s routine.

Enrichment Is More Than a Puzzle Toy
Buying an enrichment toy is easy.
Understanding how to use enrichment effectively with your individual dog is where this service becomes valuable.
A toy that’s engaging for one dog may be frustrating, boring, or too difficult for another.
During your session, you’ll learn how to:
- Introduce enrichment activities appropriately
- Recognize when your dog is engaged versus frustrated
- Adjust the difficulty of an activity
- Encourage your dog without immediately solving the problem for them
- Identify activities your dog genuinely enjoys
- Use enrichment as part of your dog’s normal routine
- Create mental stimulation without constantly purchasing new toys
The goal isn’t to leave you dependent on special equipment.
It’s to help you understand how to enrich your dog’s life with intention.

That’s part of the learning process. Becky will show you how to adjust the activity, offer appropriate support, and recognize when something may be too difficult or frustrating for your dog.
