What are Adventure Hikes?
Adventure Hikes take traditional dog walking to a whole new level!
Instead of walking the same neighborhood sidewalks, your dog gets the opportunity to explore local parks, wooded trails, and new environments with an experienced dog trainer.
Each Adventure Hike includes a 30-minute outdoor excursion designed to support your dog’s physical and mental well-being.
From following interesting scents to exploring different sights and sounds, every adventure offers opportunities for movement, enrichment, and confidence building.
Best of all? We handle pickup and drop-off, making it easy to give your dog an exciting experience without interrupting your busy schedule.

Where We Explore
From peaceful wooded trails to scenic walking paths, Wolf Pack Adventure Hikes give dogs the opportunity to explore some of the beautiful outdoor spaces throughout our local communities.
River's Bend Park
Encompassing more than 850 acres, River Bends Park is rich in plant and animal life, and has historical significance as well.
The park is divided into two sections by the Clinton River, which flows through the park in an area approximately six miles long. In 2000, a bridge was constructed to connect the two sections of River Bends Park.
Holland Ponds Park
Inside Holland Ponds lies 200 acres of natural plant and wildlife. Known for its heron rookery and beautiful walking trails, Holland Ponds welcomes bird watchers and hikers. The park also displays some of Shelby Township’s history with remains of the abandoned Clinton-Kalamazoo Canal project, which date to 1838. A small pavilion sits towards the back of the park with portable restrooms at the park entrance.
Rochester Municipal Park
Rochester Municipal Park offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities and scenic spaces to explore. Its beautiful walking paths and natural surroundings provide opportunities for exercise, fresh air, and adventure. With plenty of sights, sounds, and smells, it’s a great setting for dogs to enjoy outdoor enrichment.
Is Your Dog a Good Fit?
Is an Adventure Hike Right for Your Dog?
Adventure Hikes can be a wonderful option for dogs who enjoy getting outside, exploring new places, and experiencing new smells and surroundings.
Your dog may be a good candidate if they:
Enjoy walking and exploring outdoors.
Are comfortable wearing a leash and harness.
Can safely tolerate vehicle transportation.
Are physically capable of a 30-minute outing.
Can be safely managed around other people, dogs, and environmental distractions.
Not every dog needs an Adventure Buddy!
Some dogs are happiest exploring individually, while others enjoy a carefully selected hiking companion. We evaluate each dog’s temperament, comfort level, and handling needs before determining the appropriate adventure.
Dogs experiencing significant leash reactivity, fear, aggression, or other behavioral challenges may benefit from a consultation or individualized training before participating.
New to Wolf Pack? We recommend beginning with a consultation so we can get to know your dog and determine whether Adventure Hikes are the right fit.
Safety comes first. Adventures may be rescheduled, adjusted, or canceled when heat, cold, storms, air quality, or trail conditions make outdoor activity unsafe.
Possibly! Participation depends on your dog’s age, health, mobility, stamina, and comfort level. We assess whether a 30-minute outing is appropriate and may recommend another service when needed.
No. Adventure Hikes focus on exercise, sniffing, exploration, and mental enrichment. Walk & Train is a dedicated training service that addresses specific behaviors and training goals.
Not necessarily. Solo Adventure Hikes are available, and compatible dogs may qualify for a two-dog Adventure Buddy Hike. We never guarantee pairing without evaluating suitability.
